INTRODUCTION
Skailark are a global start-up business with roots based in Munich, Germany whose mission is to empower the aviation industry to be more sustainable both environmentally and economically.
Skailark’s ‘Airline Economics’ product delivers precise, harmonised airline data for over 300 airlines, empowering actionable insights on costs, revenues, and operations.
Skailark’s ‘Airline Sustainability’ product offers detailed, flight-by-flight fuel consumption and emissions data with unparalleled accuracy and granularity – essentially – Skailark have built a ‘digital twin’ of the aviation sector.
Insight were approached by Skailark to help plan, film and produce a case study based on their work with IAG - the parent company of airlines such as British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia, to name just a few.
PLANNING
Planning is always such an important part of any project, and this one was no exception. Early meetings with Skailark identified a great location to shoot at IAG’s headquarters based near Heathrow Airport and so we set to work with pre-production to craft out ideas and make sure we understood all aspects of the challenges of working at such a busy location.
Accessing IAG’s people to secure a time slot to film proved challenging due to very busy calendars and conflicting diaries but we eventually agreed a date and completed out pre-production activities ready to film.
CONTENT CHOICES
The main event on this piece of work was to produce a compelling case study to show how IAG benefit from their relationship with Skailark and their data insights product. A set of questions were carefully crafted that would illicit some very specific responses and that would speak emphatically to other potential users in the aviation sector.
Having IAG’s Chief Corporate Development Officer and Group Corporate Development Director on board on the case study would aim to give the maximum credibility to the message – creating the right setting in the studio we ‘built’ was essential to give our interviewees the comfort they needed to speak freely about their experiences.
Having interviewed both of IAG’s representatives, we then produced a set of photographs to help reinforce the case study and captured B-Roll around IAG’s Waterside HQ to use as cut away material.
Once all of the assets had been captured, we worked up a long form version of the case study along with a teaser version (around 90 seconds) and a full set of still photographs to finish off the asset bank.
GREAT RESULTS
We’re really proud of the results we helped to create for our client and absolutely delighted that we were chosen to help capture this case study. We love shooting these types of commissions – we work really well under pressure and against tight deadlines, we are able to thrive time and time again for our clients.
We are already in talks with Skailark to help them produce more case studies for other clients they work with and we’re looking forward to getting involved in their further growth journey. Once the project was delivered and signed off, we were delighted to receive this feedback from Skailark.
