We’ve been really interested in personal branding photography recently. That’s why we’ve delved into some research that we want to share with you. What Hannah and I uncovered certainly wasn’t a shock to us. Did you know that 82% of people put more trust in a company when the senior executives have active social media profiles? We also uncovered that 77% of customers are more likely to buy when the CEO is on social media.
There are so many stats floating around about the benefits of social media for business. Plus, there are just as many about the importance of individual branding. When your top team develop their social profiles, it has a positive impact on business. It signals to their networks that the CEO really cares. They’re seen to care about how they’re viewed by their peers, clients and their industry.
Insight Photography have first-hand experience of this in action. We’ve worked with lots of CEOs who care about their digital image. Most recently, we’ve worked with Paul Whitbread on some personal branding photography. Paul recognised how important his strong online presence was to his business. He contacted us for some help with his personal branding.
Personal branding photography
Paul wanted to raise his online game with some personal branding photography. His business, NRM Gaming has been a market leader in their industry since opening in 1994. Their opinion is well respected in their industry. Paul wanted to capitalise on this with his social profile. Our initial chats with Paul opened up really interesting discussions. We talked about location, styling and mood for the shoot. Then, we spent time working on the ‘visual message’ he wanted to display and came up with a shooting brief.
We decided that Paul’s home would be the perfect spot for his brand photography session. The Insight mobile studio allowed us to get those first ‘bread and butter’ shots of Paul on a white background. Those done, we spend time exploring the house for the best light and settings for the rest of Paul’s collection. Because we were shooting in Paul’s home, the images look very organic. Our pictures highlighted his senior position, while showing him as friendly and approachable. The finished images have the depth and breadth Paul needs to use on his social media. We captured different moods and styles that can be used across a wide variety of messages. I learned so much from Paul during this shoot, it was fascinating. He’s warm, humble, inviting, and was very open to my suggestions. A fantastic boss and a wonderful guy all round!
Paul’s thoughts on the shoot
Paul had some lovely things to say about his experience with Insight’s personal branding photography:
Insight Photography recently did some corporate profile shots for me at home. It’s always difficult with this sort of shoot, as getting the right composition needs some guidance from the photographer.
It’s important to be relaxed. Andrew, and his enthusiastic assistant Hannah, were fantastic and quickly suggested some composition ideas. We shot at various locations in the house and garden, and in all, Andrew took a few hundred photographs. In the end, I selected about 40 photographs for finishing, and the results are excellent, probably the best shots I’ve ever had. I would recommend Insight to anyone looking for a reliable and very professional photographer. We’re glad to know Paul enjoyed the experience as much as we did.
