As a Hull Wedding Photographer I always love it when couples book me and I find out their wedding will be held at The Millhouse. It has a really fantastic range of photographic opportunities. The style and decoration of the interior is impeccable and the grounds in and around the restaurant itself lend themselves to endless options. The open fields behind the venue give great views towards the famous Mill itself. The Mill shot is a showstopper in anybody’s wedding album.
It’s not just the ‘look’ of The Millhouse I really appreciate, it’s also their approach to food, beverage and the overall client experience. Prior to my life as a wedding photographer, I had a career for many years in the hotel and restaurant industry. I found myself working in some really great spots in North America and the UK. With this experience in mind, I feel as if I have developed a keen taste for excellence in hospitality services. Where I am concerned, The Millhouse is without doubt at the top of their game. Consistency in their offering trickles down in everything they do.
The Millhouse history
The Millhouse was first founded by Franco Ciuffetelli in 1990 by his passion for fine food and wine. Originating from Italy’s Abruzzo region, Franco settled in East Yorkshire and began developing a fine reputation here as a restaurateur. He purchased a beautiful house nestled beside a glorious windmill, and The Millhouse was born.
The venue remains in family hands today and has gone from strength to strength. The exquisite setting, stellar service and scrumptious food are second to none. It’s a favourite with locals and tops the list of incredible wedding venues in our area.
Weddings at The Millhouse
I’ve shot many weddings at The Millhouse and I am always impressed by their attention to detail and customer service. Wedding parties can have exclusive access to the entire venue, so it’s perfect for a large celebration. Having said that, smaller, more intimate weddings here are just as common, and both provide me with the opportunity for some amazing photographs of the day.
You have to check out The Millhouse. You won’t be disappointed and just to whet your appetite, here’s one of my favourite images from one of the weddings I’ve photographed there.
